October 2026 Newsletter

The October 2026 Newsletter with news on the Christmas Lights Show, the latest on FSD (now TAD), and the new TOUK club hoodies.

This Autumn newsletter sees us welcoming two new members to the Tesla Owners UK Committee and we welcome Dan and Jason to the team. This will help us improve our regional chapters and our links with partners over the coming months.

I write this newsletter in Berlin as we take another 45 members to the Tesla Gigafactory this week and we will share some photos on Facebook next week and in the next newsletter. And last week, the club was represented at the Xtakeover event at Giga Texas in Austin organised by our fellow club Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, so do check out the report in our next newsletter.

As the nights draw in many people look towards the Christmas season and some of you will remember the Club Xmas Lightshow at the Lap of Lights Silverstone extravaganza which we arranged for the first time last year. We are once again returning this year on Friday 11 December 2026 and tickets will be released early next week so watch out for that special email. We have managed to keep the tickets to £10 each, and free for paid supporters. We have also negotiated a special discount with Silverstone if you want to undertake the Lap of Lights so please wait for that code in the next email!

Our merchandise shop will have some new items later in the week including our exciting new hoodies for you to purchase- see below for more information and the link to the Club Merchandise Shop.

Tesla has had a big week with the Roadster finally being unveiled and with some fascinating Space X technology. While it is a shame that the Roadster 2 never did make production, the latest Roadster certainly has some amazing features and performance. We will have more on this next month.

On a final note, we are aware some of you are keen also to purchase a membership pack which used to be available as an add on with your paid membership and we have been researching a new quality offer for a new updated pack which will be soon be available to purchase. Once we have a launch date, we will update you via newsletter but we are planning to have these available also in time for Christmas.

Best wishes,

Warren Whyte - TOUK President

p.s. Hot off the press: one last save the date - our 2027 Supercharged event will be held on Saturday 22 May and it will returning the Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire after our successful first visit there this year. You will not want to miss it!

WELCOME TO THE TOUK COMMITTEE TEAM - NEW MEMBERS

We are delighted to welcome two new committee members to the TOUK team.

Dan Beard - Partnerships Manager

Dan is a Workforce Resource Manager for Cavendish Nuclear at Hinkley Point C, responsible for workforce planning and resource management within one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. A passionate Tesla advocate, he currently owns a 2021 Tesla Model 3 AWD and plans to upgrade to a Highland model next year, while his wife drives a Model Y. Having helped numerous people make the move to Tesla ownership, Daniel enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with the EV community. He regularly attends Tesla and EV events, where he supports fellow owners, provides practical advice and connects with like-minded enthusiasts who share a passion for sustainable technology.

Jason Henrick - Regional Co-ordinator

Jason is now retired and a lover of technology so getting a Tesla was like a match made in heaven!  He loves talking to people about what the Tesla and a move to renewables with Tesla Powerwalls can offer in savings.

He has put as much solar as he can on the house, has a Powerwall 3 plus 2 extension packs as well as an ASHP and is now a fully electrified household.

With his Tesla Model 3 RWD Highlander, he has been happy to take part in trips all across Europe. Some of these have been light show events. He cites being part of the Belgian world record of 1150 Teslas as amazing and has made some new friends at our events.

FREMONT - SEMI ROLL OUT END SEPTEMBER!

Did you watch the Tesla Semi launch last month? Top Gear has launched a new channel called “Top Gear Tech” and ex-Everything Electric presenter Jack Scarlett has a fascinating deep dive into the new Tesla Semi lorry and also the new factory that builds it. Two unexpected bits of detail? The Semi can do 0-60 in 12 seconds and the factory has no paint shop but used powder coating processes instead. An interesting 25 minute watch including some useful time with Tesla’s Dan Priestley.

Oddly, the video was recently taken down but hopefully it will be available again to see soon.

TESLA FSD UPDATE

Tesla FSD update for European Road trippers: Last month we asked Tesla why UK FSD owners cannot use their FSD cars on FSD Supervised when on a road trip to a FSD Supervised approved country like Netherlands, Belgium or now Slovenia. There is no official answer as to why this is currently not possible, or if this can be fixed, but they have agreed to look into the issue.

This would be a small but very welcome benefit for those that did make the effort to buy into FSD years ago and experience it at least while on holiday. This would however only benefit those with HW4, as HW3 cars in Europe still do not get access to FSDS. We will keep the pressure on Tesla while we await progress here in the UK but we are grateful for them to look into this. The image shows where FSD has been tested so far in the UK according to a recent X post by Tesla.

And you may have heard in recent days that in Europe, FSD is now called TAD - Tesla Assisted Driving. We will be examining what this means for potential UK approval and will be updating members in due course.

Have FSD already and planning to change your Tesla? TOUK has been reassured by Tesla that you can continue to transfer FSD to a new Tesla. Please do contact the club if you are told otherwise, but hopefully all sales staff have been reminded of this offer by the time you receive this newsletter.
